2014: Invenergy Enters Mexico's Energy Market

When Mexico reimagined its energy future in the mid-2010s, Invenergy stepped in to help build it.
Invenergy established its presence in Mexico in 2014, drawn by the country's long-term potential at a moment when energy reforms were reshaping the power sector and opening new opportunities for private investment. Starting with a local partner and now operating independently, Invenergy brought its U.S. development and technical expertise to build a platform tailored to Mexico's unique energy needs.
What followed was more than a decade of growth and innovation. Invenergy developed an expansive portfolio of natural gas, wind, solar, and battery storage, as well as tailored cogeneration and trigeneration solutions for industrial customers. Projects like La Toba, Mexico's first hybrid solar and storage project, demonstrated how innovative solutions could support reliability in isolated regions. Los Ramones, a 604.5 MW natural gas peaking facility in Nuevo León, strengthened the grid in one of the country's most important industrial hubs.
Invenergy has developed nearly 900 MW of reliable energy since entering Mexico over a decade ago.
