Michael Polsky Joins U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board, Attends First Meeting in D.C.
Invenergy Founder and Executive Chairman Michael Polsky recently participated in his first meeting as a member of the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board (SEAB), after being appointed in July.
SEAB provides independent advice and recommendations to the U.S. Secretary of Energy on a broad range of energy, science, technology, and national security issues. The board brings together leaders from across industry, academia, and research institutions to help inform the Department of Energy's priorities and policies.
During this week's meeting in Washington, D.C., board members discussed key issues facing the U.S. energy sector, received updates from Department of Energy leadership, and provided input on matters important to the nation's energy future.
Polsky joins a distinguished group of leaders representing a range of energy, technology, and industrial organizations.
An engineer by training, Polsky’s career spans over 45 years and almost every form of energy. Beginning with coal, he worked in oil, nuclear, and natural gas power generation before founding and building two successful independent power companies, which developed cogeneration and gas plants. In 2001, Polsky founded his third company, Invenergy, playing a critical role in the global expansion of power generation at scale.
