Michael Polsky: My Vision for Invenergy’s Next Stage of Growth

In my 40+ years as an energy entrepreneur, I’ve never seen demand like today. The scale of the opportunity is incredible and shaping the next stage of growth for Invenergy.
We’ve strengthened our senior leadership structure so I can dedicate more time and effort driving Invenergy’s strategy and growth today and well into the future. Invenergy is not just an energy company; we are a technology company, and I will continue positioning Invenergy for this consequential chapter ahead.
My longtime business partners Jim Murphy, as Invenergy CEO, and Jim Shield, as President of Invenergy Power, in their recently announced roles, will lead day-to-day execution within a clear and aligned leadership structure.
I’m an engineer by training, and all our leaders have deep technical and commercial expertise. As we look forward, Invenergy is focused on continuing to meet our customers’ needs with practical, affordable energy solutions driven by technology and experience. The 220+ projects and 38 gigawatts of power generation we’ve developed only reinforce our unmatched technical and execution capability.
Today, our customers want a mix of energy technologies because they see the distinct advantages multiple sources provide. They want natural gas for firm, dispatchable power and renewables including geothermal for fixed-priced, domestic resources that are insulated from increased geopolitical instability. At Invenergy, we’re uniquely positioned to continue delivering these diversified solutions, along with transmission, manufacturing, and emerging technologies.
The company we’ve built could not be better suited to meet the complexities and urgency of today’s and future energy markets. Through longstanding relationships and an ability to access equipment and capital, we have a decades-long track record for delivering innovative energy solutions with world-class talent.
We’re now executing at least 10 gigawatts of late-stage natural gas-fired power over the next five years, along with continued growth across other parts of the business, including our industry-leading renewables portfolio. This scale demands focus and discipline to capitalize on the opportunity.
Over the last 25 years, we’ve helped transform the energy industry and grown to become North America’s largest and most diversified independent power producer. We did this by relying on technical knowledge, running faster, working smarter, and staying ahead of the curve. We're intensifying our focus with that same mentality, and I'm excited to move into this next stage of growth and the 25 years ahead.
